BONUS: All season launch passes and slip rentals gives the renter a 10 cent/litre fuel discount! The marina has a fuel dock on site (the only one on the lake), and a store stocked with candy, soft drinks, frozen treats and ice. Ample parking available!
AQUATIC INVASIVE SPECIES PREVENTION PROGRAM:
The Eastern Irrigation District (EID) owns and operates 13 reservoirs, including Lake Newell Reservoir, Crawling Valley Reservoir, and Rolling Hills Reservoir -popular destinations for boating, fishing, and camping.
To help protect these waters, the EID introduced an Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Prevention Program in 2018. Invasive species such as zebra and quagga mussels pose a serious threat to irrigation infrastructure, ecosystems, and the regional economy, making prevention essential.
All watercraft – both motorized and non-motorized, including kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes – must be registered with the EID’s AIS Prevention Program prior to launching in any EID reservoir. Boaters receive a validation sticker each season confirming they have met program requirements. Trailered watercraft must only launch from designated boat launches, while non-trailered watercraft may launch at other approved locations but must still be registered and check-in with EID staff before entering the water.
Registration is available at key locations throughout the region, including:
Crawling Valley Campground
Kinbrook Island Provincial Park (when EID staff are present)
Rolling Hills Reservoir Campground
Lake Newell Resort Marina
This program is supported through a partnership with the County of Newell and is backed by the County’s Boating Safety and Aquatic Invasive Species Bylaw (2001-21). Failure to comply with AIS requirements may result in loss of access to EID lands and reservoirs.
