Open Farm Days
Alberta Open Farm Days is a province-wide celebration that connects Albertans with the people, places, and practices behind their food. Held every August, farms across Alberta open their gates to the public for a weekend of hands-on experiences, tours, tastings, and conversations.
This year’s theme—“Water: The Lifeblood of Every Farm”—highlights the vital role water plays in food production, sustainability, and rural life. From irrigation systems to conservation practices, visitors will discover how Alberta farmers work with water every day to nourish both land and livestock.
It’s free, fun, and a perfect way to experience life on the farm.
Brooks Aqueduct, Niznik Ranches, and Bassano Dam are just a few of the locations open to the public. Visit the Alberta Open Farm Days website for more locations to visit in our region!
