Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned birder, the areas south and west of Brooks are home to two major reservoirs, Kitsum Reservoir and Lake Newell. Bird species seen include Shorebirds, Ferruginous Hawks, Burrowing Owls, Caspian Terns, American Bitterns, Western Grebe, Clark’s Grebe, various sparrows, Chestnut-collared Longspurs and more.
