The Brooks Region culinary scene may be small, but it’s mighty. Home to cuisines from around the globe, you will quickly learn why Brooks is known as the city of 100 hellos. While we wish we could have shared the entire list of our favourite spots for food and drinks, this list of our top 12 will surely satisfy every taste and preference.

Wasana Restaurant– Open for takeout and dine-in, Wasana Restaurant has quickly become the local favourite for thai cuisine. Their Pad Thai, Pla Rad Prik and Pad Se-Lew are some of their most popular local plates.

Don Chava Taqueria – Have a hankering for tacos? Look no further than Don Chava Taqueria. Their authentic Mexican cuisine is available for dine in, takeout and delivery.

Piston Broke Brewing – Piston Broke is Brooks’ first craft brewery. Serving up to ten taps at any time, the beer lover in your group will want to stop by the taproom for a flight. The brewery also has a family-friendly restaurant and dog-friendly patio.

Indian PanFlame – Chef Deepak and his team serve up some of the best Indian food in Alberta. By blending traditional and contemporary flavours, this hidden gem of the Brooks Region should not be missed.

Hometime BBQ and Bakery – Rumoured to have the best ribs in town, it is impossible to leave this restaurant feeling hungry. Between their homestyle breakfasts, trays of smoked meats and locally loved sandwiches, you will regret missing this one.

Nikko Sushi – You may not think of sushi when you think of Brooks but once you visit Nikko, you will be convinced. If that is not enough, let their 60 5-star reviews speak for themselves.

Armando’s Bar & Grill – If you find yourself in Bassano, we recommend visiting Armando’s for the area’s best Italian cuisine. In addition to serving up pizza, pasta and steaks in their family restaurant, the lounge is known for nightly drink specials, VLTs, live music and Karaoke nights.

Kim’s Cambodian Restaurant – The local favourite at this sit down, takeout and delivery establishment is the lunch buffet. Fill your plate with asian-inspired dishes like wonton soup, fried rice and chow mein noodles from 11:00 – 2:00 p.m. Tuesday to Friday.

North Star Pho – This newcomer to the area is already getting rave reviews from customers. Choose to dine in or order via Doordash to enjoy their soups, vermicelli bowls and stir frys.

Pivot Spirits Distillery – Located in Rolling Hills, Alberta, Pivot Spirits makes a wide range of products using sustainable harvesting and distilling methods. Try their signature Full Circle Vodka and Farmacy Gin or be lucky enough to sample limited edition seasonal flavours like their Winter Gin.

Patricia Hotel and Duchess Hotel – You have not visited the Brooks Region if you haven’t tried one of the hugely popular steak pits. Both the Patricia Hotel and Duchess Hotel allow for patrons to cook their steak or burger on an open flame grill. It is the perfect destination for a celebration!
